H-1B visa program are being abused. Highly skilled and not so highly skilled foreign nationals recruited through H1B were not paid based on standards set by LCA or Labor Condition Application. Infosys an Indian multinational corporation is well known of paying H1B workers well below average wages. This is the reason why most American companies are willing to hire H1B workers like Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and others. Indians H1B manager hire more Indians H1B even though they have mediocre knowledge. They bias on hiring. If you have time to visit a company in their IT department, you will be able to see more than half of the workers are from India. There are thousands of American who are IT Engineers but struggling to find an IT jobs which pays them decent wages. I have heard some people lost their IT careers to h1b visa workers. Companies often use H-1B for cheap labor not because the US workers don't have the skills. Trump's policies are for Americans and not for foreigners. A shortage of workers is good for Americans to have more opportunities to land a good job, but this is not the care. It means that every American has an opportunity if they need it. The influx of skilled and not sot skilled foreign workers has historically led to lower wages and employment for American tech workers. Some businesses have fired American workers and replaced them with cheaper labor: temporary, foreign workers with H-1B visas. The program, created more than 25 years ago, allows American companies to fill gaps in the workforce from overseas with skills needed from employees, who can’t be found in the U.S. according to these giant corporation. But I don’t believe manpower with the same skills as the foreigners can’t be found in the U.S., the main purpose of these big corporation is cheap labor and earn more profits. Many businesses use the program as intended, but we discovered more and more are taking advantage of loopholes in the law to fire American workers and replace them with younger, cheaper, temporary foreign workers with H-1B visas. But before the American workers walk out the door they often face the humiliating prospect of having to train the people taking their jobs. H1B-visa defeats the purpose instead of adding newly highly skilled workers, they have replaced the one which is already their in the name of cheap labor, purely an abuse committed by a companies.

There is no fixed number of jobs, so there is no “stealing.” Firstly, there’s the framing “stealing jobs,” as if there is some fixed number of jobs in the U.S. instead of an economy that can expand or contract. There is no “zero sum” game: if a company hires a U.S. engineer and she helps her company build a successful new product, they will need to hire more engineers, sales people, marketers, finance people, support staff etc. Hiring her helped to create new jobs.
